Beckhoff Automation will showcase new, system-integrated solutions for IIoT and Industrie 4.0 at Interphex 2019. Advanced IoT hardware and software technologies from Beckhoff will demonstrate practical Smart Factory concepts for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device manufacturing, while maintaining the sanitary environments required by these industries. From new machine designs to retrofits, system-integrated automation technologies are available for secure connectivity from sensor to cloud. These game-changing technologies can vastly improve traceability, validation and quality control.

Additional Smart Factory solutions will factor heavily in the Beckhoff booth, such as One Cable Automation via EtherCAT P, which integrates power and signal lines into a standard 4-wire Ethernet cable. In addition to ultra-compact Industrial PCs, the latest motor and drive solutions with One Cable Technology (OCT), including IP 69K-rated stainless steel servomotors, will also be shown with demos and test stands for hands-on evaluation.

Multitasking control hardware: ultra-compact Industrial PCs

Representing the newest generation of Beckhoff Industrial PCs (IPCs), the C6015, C6017 and C6030 IPCs are Microsoft Azure™ Certified and just as capable to work with Amazon Web Services (AWS), SAP HANA and other major cloud services. The first entry into this range, the C6015, incorporates an Intel® Atom™ processor (up to four cores), and the newer C6030 uses Intel® Core™ i-series processors of the 6th and 7th Generation. The latest entry into the range, the C6017, offers the same Intel® Atom™ processors found in the C6015, but adds two more RJ45 interfaces and two additional USB 2.0 ports. An optional capacitive 1-second UPS is also available in the C6017. The three IPCs are ideally suited for all IoT, machine control, cloud connectivity and edge device requirements in manufacturing.

High-end measurement technology for pharmaceutical machinery via EtherCAT

With the ELM series EtherCAT I/O modules, high-end measurement technology becomes a system-integrated part of PC-based control. These EtherCAT measurement modules can be directly integrated into the modular EtherCAT Terminal system. Robust metal housings offer optimized shielding and heat dissipation for measurement applications as well as increased flexibility with regard to interfaces, such as for LEMO or BNC connectors. The large amounts of precise measurement data can be used to fuel robust cloud databases and analytics implementations for new data insights in the pharmaceutical industry.

With a wide range of stainless steel automation devices for hygienic application needs, Beckhoff offers robust products that withstand demanding cleaning procedures in the pharma and biotech industries. These space-saving drive solutions feature One Cable Technology (OCT) for further machine footprint reductions.
