At the 18th Automotive Testing Expo Europe, which will be held in Stuttgart from 20 to 22 June, about 330 exhibitors will be presenting their latest technologies for improving the quality, reliability and safety in the automotive industry. “In the field of automotive testing, a large number of test bench manufacturers already rely on our intelligent high-precision test system solution,” says Martin Podrouschek, Product Manager Fieldbus Systems at Beckhoff.
The highlight at the Beckhoff booth will be the new EtherCAT modules that integrate high-speed measurement technology into the standard control platform. Extremely precise, fast and robust, this new series of devices complements the existing range of measurement terminals from Beckhoff with a variety of different interfaces and input circuitry. The measurement technology modules of TwinCAT automation software, such as TwinCAT Condition Monitoring and TwinCAT Analytics, enable recorded measurements to be evaluated and visualised both locally in real-time and – just as envisaged by Industrie 4.0 – via distributed network environments or cloud systems.
To enable test bench manufacturers to easily use MATLAB®/Simulink®, the programming language well-established in science, measurement technology and control engineering, it has been integrated with TwinCAT to supplement its existing PLC and C/C++ programming interfaces.
